Dr. Ganbayar Uuganbayar holds a PhD in Information and Communication Technology, with a specialization in Cybersecurity, earned from the University of Trento, Italy.
He has been working in the cybersecurity field since 2012, gaining extensive experience across both academia and industry. He began his academic career as an Associate Lecturer at the National University of Mongolia (2012–2016).
He later worked as a Cybersecurity Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy, contributing to multiple European Union–funded cybersecurity projects between 2016 and 2021. Following the completion of his PhD, Dr.
Ganbayar continued his research career at the University of Oxford as a cybersecurity researcher until May 2022. Currently, Dr.
Ganbayar is one of the pioneers of the cybersecurity industry in Mongolia, having founded a startup that delivers cybersecurity services to both public and private sector organizations. His work spans cybersecurity consulting, risk assessment, audit, security testing, SOC building, Bug Bounty, and capacity building.
He holds several internationally recognized professional certifications, including CISSP and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, reflecting his strong expertise in both technical and governance aspects of cybersecurity. Dr.
Ganbayar is also actively involved in the global cybersecurity community. He serves as a steering committee member of an international cybersecurity challenge, where he leads Team Asia as the jury and organizer.
In addition, he has published multiple scientific papers at the international level, including a publication in Computers & Security, one of the top-ranked journals in the cybersecurity field.
